Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a per diem Nutrition Care professional to screen, assess and manage nutrition care for hematopoietic cell transplant and oncology patients.

Responsibilities include nutrition assessment, counseling, coordination with oncology teams, documentation, and education for patients and caregivers. Per diem schedule, variable hours, and commitment to research and clinical care are valued.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree in nutrition or related field.
• 1–2 years’ experience counseling individuals and families; oncology experience preferred.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) and Washington CD.
• Knowledge of physiology, metabolism and medical nutrition therapy.
• Ability to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Screen and assess nutritional status of HCT and oncology patients on admission and follow-up.
• Provide nutrition assessment, counseling and medical nutrition therapy planning.
• Coordinate care with oncology providers and other disciplines.
• Document care in medical records per standards.
• Educate patients and caregivers; develop patient materials.
• Participate in research protocols and trainings.
