Job summary

Advocate Health, based in Charlotte, NC, seeks an experienced RN leader for the Levine Cancer Institute – Medical Oncology Pineville. You will supervise nursing staff, coordinate care, and ensure compliant, high-quality patient services in a busy oncology environment.

The role requires BSN, current RN licensure, and prior oncology and management experience. BLS and professional certifications within 1 year are expected as part of ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• Minimum two years of Oncology nursing experience preferred.
• Previous management experience.
• BSN required.
• RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of Hire/Transfer date and must complete program within 3 years of enrollment in the program.
• BLS required per policy guidelines. Appropriate professional certification within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam.

Responsibilities

• Supports the manager utilizing systematic approaches to enhance nursing practice and delivery of care in the department.
• Assists with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel in the department.
• Assists with coordination of communication at regular intervals throughout shifts via staff meetings/huddles.
• Collaborates with manager to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and policies.
• Rounds on patients, teammates, and physicians to gain insight into patient care and department operations.
• Delegates elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with policy parameters.
• Assists in identifying expected outcomes to provide direction for care/operations.
• Assists in evaluating progress towards goals and disseminates information to teammates.
• Performs nursing care, assists with treatments and medications as necessary.
• Coordinates management of patient flow and staffing based on volume/acuity.
