Job summary

Under the direction of the Corporate Director of Cancer Center, the Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) helps patients and families from diagnosis to survivorship. The ONN is a patient advocate, care coordinator, educator and provides psychosocial support and community connections.

This role collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely access to quality care and represents the Oncology Program at events to promote services and grow the hospital's reach.

Qualifications

• BSN required within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• 3 years nursing experience in oncology settings; including medical/surgical oncology, infusion, radiation, or inpatient oncology.
• Spanish speaking a plus; strong patient education and communication skills.
• California RN license; BLS; ACLS within 90 days of hire; ONS certification preferred.
• Ongoing cancer nursing education hours annually.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the patient and family experience from cancer diagnosis through survivorship.
• Act as patient advocate, care coordinator, educator and provide psychosocial support.
• Connect patients to community resources and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
• Represent the Oncology Program in community events and promote the service line.
