Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
• 2 years in a healthcare setting - oncology experience required.
• CMSW, MSW or LMSW for work state required.
• Oncology Social Work Certification (OSW-C) preferred.
• Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical social work services to patients/families treated in the Cancer Center to ensure a comprehensive program of treatment.
• Identification of patients in need of social work interventions through case-findings and positive relationships with referral sources.
• Maintenance of patient records with assessment, plan, and interventions.
• Supports Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center clinics and facilitates cancer center support groups.
• Presents the Cancer Center to the community and organizes workshops on psychosocial aspects of cancer care.
• Collaborates with inpatient social workers to maintain continuity of care for oncology patients.
