Job summary

Care New England is seeking an Oncology Medical Assistant to support clinical and office functions in the department. You will have direct patient contact, maintain office systems, and assist in clinical procedures.

You will also provide clerical support to staff and perform other job-related duties as needed. The role requires CMA certification, CPR, and 3–5 years of experience in a medical/administrative setting.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; CMA certification and CPR required; 3–5 years in administrative/medical setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; WP51 computer skills; transcription and typing proficiency.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work with terminally ill patients; English fluent; flexibility for weekends/evenings.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in clinical care and assessment as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Assists with direct patient care, showing maturity and discretion.
• Provides clinical support to patients and staff.
• Provides office support: typing, scheduling, processing forms.
• Monitors clinical equipment and supplies.
• Protects patient confidentiality; maintains rights.
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
