Job summary

University of California - San Diego Medical Centers is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support the oncology service line. Under supervision, you will handle patient care duties, scheduling, and basic clinic operations in the Multi-Specialty Clinic and related areas.

Applicants should have a CMA or completion certificate, BART or BLS, and 2+ years of MA experience, with strong teamwork, initiative, and bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or certificate of completion of a MA training program.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months.
• Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and online scheduling.
• Ability to take initiative, prioritize demands, and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Environmental care functions, equipment/supply management, and cleaning/disinfecting the environment.
• Proper use of body mechanics and sterile technique in clinical settings.
• Float to other areas within the oncology service line with orientation.
