Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking a Medical Assistant to work in the Multi-Specialty Clinic and oncology service line, floating to other areas as needed. You will assist with patient care, scheduling, and environmental care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Requirements include CMA or completion certificate, BART/BLS, 2+ years of MA experience, and strong teamwork and communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; background check required.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of Completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months.
• Two or more years of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in outpatient oncology.
• Knowledge of online scheduling, universal precautions, and body mechanics.
• Experience with patient care, environmental care functions, equipment/supply management, and cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care and supports clinic operations under supervision.
• Assists with environmental care, cleaning, and sterile technique as required.
• Utilizes online scheduling and coordinates care within the oncology service line.
