Job summary

The University of California - San Diego Medical Centers is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in the clinic and procedural areas of the Multi-Specialty Clinic, with potential to float to other oncology service areas.

Under supervision, you will perform duties with knowledge of medical terminology, scheduling, sterile technique, and patient care, maintaining a fast-paced, compassionate team environment; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or completion of a MA training program.
• BART or BLS at hire with plan to obtain within 6 months.
• Two+ years MA experience, preferably oncology/outpatient.
• Knowledge of online scheduling, universal precautions, body mechanics.
• Training in patient care, environmental care, equipment/supply management, cleaning/disinfecting.

Responsibilities

• Serve in clinic and procedural areas of the Multi-Specialty Clinic and float to other oncology service areas as oriented.
• Prioritize tasks, take initiative, and work in a fast-paced team environment.
