Job summary

University of California - San Diego Medical Centers is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care under supervision by clinic managers and licensed staff. Duties include clinical tasks, environmental care, equipment and supply management, and basic front-office support as needed.

The ideal candidate has CMA certification, BART/BLS, 2+ years of MA experience in a large healthcare system, and EPIC experience. Flexibility to work various hours and locations is required.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant Training program.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within 6 months of hire date.
• Two years or more of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in a large healthcare system.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize demands and work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of patient care, environmental care functions, equipment/supply management and cleaning/disinfecting.
• Knowledge of online scheduling, universal precautions, and body mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision of clinic staff and licensed personnel.
• Perform environmental care functions and maintain equipment and supplies.
• Assist with front office tasks on routine or back-up basis as needed.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and environment per protocols.
