Job summary

Heartland Oncology & Hematology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians with phlebotomy, lab testing, quality control, and instrument maintenance in a busy oncology practice.

You will obtain vital signs, prepare exam rooms, document results in the EMR, and assist with procedures as needed. Travel to other clinic locations may be required, and punctual, accurate work is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• Valid Driver's License and vehicle required for travel to other clinic locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with phlebotomy and laboratory testing with accuracy.
• Perform quality control procedures before patient testing.
• Prepare blood/bone marrow slides and handle specimens per lab procedures.
• Maintain logs and equipment records per regulatory standards.
• Document results in EMR and communicate with physicians for review.
• Assist in procedures as needed and coordinate outside testing and referrals.
