Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Minimum three years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Records patient data prior to physician visits (vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medication changes).
• Obtains patient records as required by physician prior to treatment.
• Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• May obtain orders under a provider’s direction.
• Administers injections as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintains exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Responds to patient calls and performs administrative duties.
• Alerts nurse/physician of abnormal vitals or important information.
