Job summary

Maryland Oncology Hematology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in a busy clinical setting across multiple locations in MD/DC. You will help with patient care, exam prep, and essential clerical tasks to ensure smooth operations.

Under direct supervision, you’ll assist with procedures, manage patient flow, and maintain accurate records. The role is entry level, with 0–3 years of experience and a required BCLS certification within three months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; Medical Assistant certificate preferred.
• Entry level with 0–3 years as medical/nursing assistant.
• Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Record patient data prior to physician visits (vital signs, etc.).
• Obtain necessary patient records prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer injections as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintain room disinfection protocols and assist with scheduling.
• Answer calls and refer to physician or nurse/pharmacist as needed.
• Document patient reschedules and no-shows; support administrative duties.
