Job summary

Michigan Medicine's Brighton Center for Specialty Care seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to support the Oncology department. The role focuses on patient care, vital signs, preparing exam rooms and assisting with procedures to create a soothing, efficient patient experience.

You will perform EKGs, update medication lists, and help with room turnover while maintaining thorough chart notes in MiChart and coordinating with physicians and nurses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program or current enrollment in related healthcare program or equivalent experience (1–3 years).
• Demonstrated knowledge of clinical workflows, patient care, and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Support Oncology department and other areas as needed.
• Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and assist with drug dosages calculations.
• Ensure patient flow through exam, consultation, and treatment rooms; prepare and stock rooms; update medication lists and medical histories.
• Perform EKGs, pulse oximeters, glucometers; track external labs; support administrative tasks in MiChart.
