Job summary

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support oncology care. You will perform clinical and administrative tasks, take vitals, register patients, schedule tests, and maintain rooms with focus on infection control.

The role requires several years of direct clinical patient care experience, basic computer skills, and relevant CPR/BLS/Act 34 certifications. This is a day-shift, full-time opportunity with no evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology are needed.
• 1–2 years of direct clinical patient care experience preferred.
• CPR (AHA standards), BLS, and Act 34 certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and register patients at check-in.
• Schedule tests and treatments and manage patient flow.
• Stock supplies and clean exam rooms to maintain infection control.
• Perform phlebotomy and assist with EKGs and routine clinic procedures.
• Maintain patient records and comply with HIPAA and state/federal rules.
• Assist physicians with procedures and patient education as directed.
