The Cancer & Hematology Centers seeks a Medical Assistant (Oncology Nurse Navigation Support) to partner with Nurse Navigators to coordinate cancer care from diagnosis through follow-up, providing clinical, administrative, and coordination support. This role reports to the Regional Nurse Manager and requires EMR proficiency, strong organization, and empathetic communication.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; CMA/CCMA/RMA certification preferred or certification eligible.
• Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Two years of oncology or nurse navigation experience preferred with EMR proficiency.

Responsabilités

• Assist Nurse Navigators in coordinating diagnostic testing, consultations, treatment appointments, and follow-up visits.
• Track patients through established care pathways to ensure timely progression from diagnosis to treatment.
• Conduct patient outreach regarding appointments, missed visits, and care plan follow-ups.
• Identify barriers to care (transportation, scheduling, psychosocial concerns) and communicate with the Nurse Navigator.
• Perform and support clerical duties to maintain efficient navigation workflows (phone calls, scheduling, referrals, records requests, and EMR accuracy).
