Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT seeks a compassionate Medical Oncology/Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient-centered inpatient care for cancer patients and other acute conditions. You will administer treatments, monitor patients, educate families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a Catholic, not-for-profit hospital setting.

Minimum qualifications include CT RN license and BLS/CPR, with one year of acute inpatient experience.

Qualificações

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current and valid Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of one year of acute care inpatient nursing experience.
• Current BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• BSN preferred for this role.
• Oncology/Medical-Surgical nursing experience in an acute inpatient setting is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology and medical-surgical patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions.
• Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, recognize changes in clinical status, and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and oncology treatments per policies and procedures.
• Manage symptoms related to cancer treatment, chronic illness, and acute medical conditions while promoting patient comfort and safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, rehabilitation specialists, and case managers to develop and implement individualized plans of care.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, symptom management, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation while adhering to quality, safety, and infection prevention standards.
