Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• PA Nurse Aide Registry (CNA) OR completed clinical rotations in an accredited nursing program required.
• 1 year of relevant experience and/or EMT certification may be considered in lieu of required certification/rotation.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under RN instructions, physician orders, policies, procedures and regulations.
• Obtain supplies to ensure patient rooms are ready for admission and cleared at discharge/transfer.
• Demonstrates ability to feed patients, dysphasia precautions, and records intake and output.
• Collects specimens (urine, clean catch, foley, stools for C-diff, etc.).
• Applies heat/cold packs, ace wraps, slings, binders, protective/orthopedic devices as directed.
• Participates in hourly rounding to enhance patient safety, informs patient/family on safety, turns/repositions patients, assists with toileting.
• Seeks assistance from Nurse Manager for conflict resolution.

Education
