Corewell Health's 8 South Oncology unit in Royal Oak is seeking a part-time day-shift nursing support. The role involves direct patient care under a Registered Nurse, safe patient transport, and duties to support a busy inpatient unit. Observational services may be required for high-acuity patients, with documentation in the EHR.

Required high school diploma or equivalent; BLS within 30 days of hire; CNA certification preferred; prior hospital or nursing home experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
• Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize safety.
• Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
• Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.
