Merck & Co., Inc. in the United States seeks a Payer and Health Systems Oncology Precision Medicine Medical Affairs Director (PHSO PM MAD) to build relationships with healthcare decision makers across reference laboratories, payers, and health systems, delivering medical information on the oncology portfolio.

The role requires MD/PharmD/PhD, 3–5 years in MA or clinical experience, extensive knowledge of biomarkers and precision medicine, up to 50% travel, and a national footprint near a large

Qualifications

• MD, PharmD, or PhD degree required.
• 3 years of field-based MA experience OR 5 years in health system/clinical setting.
• Experience with reference labs, payers, IDSs, or scientific leaders.

Responsibilities

• Develops ongoing professional relationships with key decision makers in reference laboratories, organized health systems, managed markets organizations and oncology pathway organizations to ensure access to medical and scientific information.
• Develops strategic account plans with other PHSO MADs and precision medicine teams and executes medical activities in alignment with the plan.
• Serves as the primary resource for market dynamics within the territory to understand decision makers’ evolving information needs for value proposition development.
• Coordinates with RMSD regarding medical and scientific support needs in key health systems accounts.
• Supports strategic planning and mentoring within the MA team.
• Attends and supports scientific and medical meetings and prepares post-meeting deliverables.
