Job summary

US Oncology Inc. seeks a Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to provide general nursing care in an oncology/hematology clinic under supervision.

You will administer medications, assist physicians, monitor patient conditions, and support efficient patient flow. Requirements: graduate from an accredited practical nursing program, current LPN license, BCLS certification within 3 months of hire, and at least 3 years of practical nursing experience; phlebotomy experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program.
  • Current LPN license and registration in practicing state.
  • BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general nursing care to patients.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Assists with preparation of equipment and aids physicians.
  • Observes, records, and reports patient condition and reaction to drugs.
  • Instructs patients in collection of specimen samples for testing.
  • Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls and medication instructions.
  • Records patient data prior to physician visits including vital signs, height, weight, and allergies.
  • Performs EKG and oxymetry readings as required by physician.
  • Obtains blood specimens as needed.
