Job summary
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Winchester, MA seeks a full-time Pharmacy Technician for the Winchester Center for Cancer Care. The role covers unit dose distribution, sterile and non-sterile compounding, and delivery of medications to nursing areas, with no evenings or holidays in this shift.
Responsibilities include restocking ADSs, aligning with DEA, DPH regulations, preparing IV meds per USP standards, and mentoring students and technicians.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Mass Registered Pharmacy Technician license required.
- PTCB or EXCPT certification required.
Responsibilities
- Restocks ADSs and floor stock medications following Epic workflows.
- Delivers all medications in compliance with DEA, DPH & State Board regulations.
- Prepares and delivers IV medications per USP 797 & USP 800 standards.
- Compounds non-sterile products and repackages bulk supplies per USP 795 & USP 800.
- Checks for expired medications and disposes of expired/damaged meds per regulations.
- Participates in training and mentorship of students and technicians.
- Prepares specialized sterile/non-sterile products including TPNs, neonatal, hazardous, and chemo meds.
- Suggests workflow efficiencies with Lead technicians to implement new practices.
- Maintains staffing in two or more areas of the pharmacy.
