Job summary

Hematology Oncology Associates of the Palm Beaches is seeking a registered nurse to join our oncology infusion team. You will perform pre-treatment and ongoing nursing assessments, verify orders, administer therapies, establish venous access, and respond to emergencies.

You will educate patients and families, document care in the electronic health record, coordinate with pharmacy, uphold infection control standards, and travel to satellite locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments including vital signs, symptoms, pain, and treatment parameters.
• Verify provider orders, informed consent, lab values, patient identity, drug, dose, route, and timing with independent checks.
• Administer antineoplastic agents, immunotherapies, biologic agents, blood products, hydration, and supportive medications.
• Establish, access, assess, and maintain venous access devices including ports and central lines per policy.
• Monitor patients during and after treatment and manage infusion reactions, toxicities, and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient and caregiver education on treatment, medications, adverse effects, and when to contact the office.
• Document assessments, medication administration, and patient response in the electronic health record.
• Coordinate care with pharmacy for timely preparation, delivery, and disposition of medications.
• Maintain infection prevention, safety, and regulatory readiness activities.
• Travel to satellite locations and float to other offices as needed.
