Job summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at UVA Health Culpeper provides direct patient care to oncology patients under the supervision of a licensed practitioner or RN, following Virginia Board of Nursing regulations and UVA policies.

Responsibilities include vitals, specimen collection, medication administration, and support for infusion workflows, with emphasis on compassionate patient-centered care and teamwork within the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Virginia LPN license with current BLS certification.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly; strong verbal and written communication.
• Oncology or infusion experience and Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and clinical support to oncology patients under supervision.
• Obtain vitals and document focused assessments in Epic.
• Administer medications within scope and UVA policy.
• Perform phlebotomy and maintain peripheral IV access per competency.
• Assist with infusion workflows and patient flow.
• Document charges for clinical services rendered.
