Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Oncology and Hematology Clinic at the Phillips Cancer Center. This full-time, day-shift position includes four 9-hour days (8:00 AM–5:00 PM), Monday through Friday with rotating days off, and no nights or weekends.

The RN will support six physicians and three APPs with rooming, vitals, IVs, port access, phlebotomy, and care coordination for oncology patients.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• RN licensure with BLS within 90 days of hire.
• ONC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and perform triage in person and by phone.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments.
• Provide patient education and self-management support.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Manage patient messages and results within scope.
• Support prevention and population health outreach.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and stocked clinical environment.
• Document care in the electronic health record.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
