Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Oncology and Hematology Clinic at the Phillips Cancer Center in Charlottesville, VA. This full-time day-shift role supports a busy outpatient clinic with 80–90 patients daily and involves rooming patients, vital signs, IV placement, port access, and phlebotomy.

The RN will aid care coordination, collaborate with physicians and APPs, and document in the EHR while focusing on population health and chronic disease management.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• ONC certified RN preferred.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and performs triage in person and by phone.
• Assists physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Administers medications, immunizations, and treatments.
• Provides patient education and self-management support.

This is a full time, Day shift position in Charlottesville, VA.Hours: Four 9-hour shifts, 8AM to 5PM between Monday to Friday with rotating days off. No nights or weekends.Sign on bonus of $10,000 available for qualified candidates.About the position:The Oncology Clinic RN will assist six physicians and three advanced practice providers within the physician's clinic group at the Cancer Center with rooming patients, vital signs, IV placement, port access, and phlebotomy. This position will also assist providers with care coordination for oncology patient populations to develop, participate and monitor multidisciplinary collaboration of services. The Center can expect to see between 80-90 patients per day. Reporting to practice or nursing leadership, this role assesses patients, assists with procedures and examinations, administers medications and immunizations, and provides patient education and care coordination. The nurse manages triage, follow-up, and communication with patients between visits and coordinates with physicians and office staff. This role matters because skilled outpatient nursing supports chronic disease management, prevention, and continuity of care.
