Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Knowledge of personal care, hygiene, and safety.
• Understanding of risks in a healthcare setting and how to mitigate them.
• Ability to communicate respectfully with diverse patients and families.
• Ability to collaborate with interprofessional teams and use telehealth tools.
• BLS certification (AHA) required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and care partners.
• Performs designated direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision.
• Maintains a safe patient care environment and responds to call lights promptly.
• Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment for efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds and supports telehealth encounters when needed.
• May function as a virtual safety associate as required by campus needs.
