Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support direct and indirect patient care under licensed clinicians. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, and collaboration across departments, including telehealth support.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, knowledge of medical terminology, and BLS certification upon hire. Weekend night shifts and regular duties will involve patient rounds and equipment assistance at our facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to perform delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Understanding of diverse patient backgrounds and effective communication with patients and families.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities as directed by licensed clinicians.
• Maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Assists with supplies and equipment to support unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates needs, and responds to call lights promptly.
• May assist with telehealth and virtual safety activities as needed.
