Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under licensed clinicians' supervision. You will support telehealth encounters and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address physiological, emotional, and social patient needs.

The role emphasizes patient safety, efficient unit operations, and compassionate care, requiring strong communication and adherence to infection control standards in a busy Med/Surg setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs and their role in an interprofessional team.
• Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Knowledge of personal care and hygiene necessary for quality of life and ability to apply this knowledge to patients in need daily.
• Knowledge of risks faced by patients and steps to reduce these risks.
• Ability to convey respect and collaborate with patients, families and designated care partners.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision of licensed clinicians.
• Promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment for efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates needs and responds to call lights promptly.
• May support telehealth encounters and virtual safety checks.
