Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, Idaho seeks an Oncology Genetic Counselor to provide high-level independent genetic counseling for adult patients in collaboration with physicians. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from an ACGC-accredited program, required or obtained within 12 months of hire.
• ABGC certification required within 12 months of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience in Genetic Counseling preferred.
• State of Idaho license required or obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Know, understand, and embody the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Care for all assigned age groups (Adolescent, Adult, Geriatrics).
• Ensure accurate documentation of services and supplies.
• Typically see 16–20 patients per week.
• Collaborate with programs and referring physicians for appropriate care.
• Obtain and evaluate family histories for genetic assessment.
• Discuss features, natural history, diagnosis, genetics, and risk management.
• Coordinate informed consent for genetic tests and diagnostics.
• Integrate test results with medical histories.
• Explain implications of results, provide risk analysis, and post-test counseling.
• Discuss privacy, confidentiality, and discrimination concerns.
• Provide timely reports for records and referrals.
• Identify community resources for support and education for health professionals.
