Prisma Health in Richland, SC seeks a Genetic Counselor to provide services within Oncology Programs, identify families at risk for hereditary cancer, educate on testing options, interpret results, and guide management. You will participate in tumor boards, supervise students, and contribute to research and teaching.

Master's degree in Genetic Counseling is required; licensure in South Carolina within six months of hire and board certification/CGC within one year if not yet certified.

Formación

• Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program.
• No experience required; two years oncology genetics counseling preferred.
• SC licensure required within six months of hire; board certification/CGC as applicable within one year.

Responsabilidades

• Provides genetic counseling consultations for hereditary cancer indications.
• Identifies candidates for genetic testing after thorough personal and family history assessment.
• Interprets genetic testing results and discusses management of hereditary cancer syndromes.
• Active participant in tumor conferences with oncologists and other providers.
• Supervises genetic counseling graduate students, interns, and residents.
• Supports clinical and research initiatives through presentations, publications, and teaching.
• Supports marketing and business development activities related to genetic services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
