Job summary

Capital Health seeks a Genetic Counselor to obtain and analyze patient histories, interpret genetic risks, and advocate for appropriate testing. You will educate patients on testing options, discuss risks, and support informed decisions within a collaborative care team.

You will present cases at interdisciplinary conferences, coordinate with other providers, and contribute to performance improvement activities. Requires NJ license and board certification.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in genetic counseling required.
• Licensed as a genetic counselor in NJ upon hire; PA license required within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and analyze patient family histories and advocate for appropriate genetic testing.
• Educate patients on risks, options, and limitations of genetic testing and counseling.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and present cases in conferences to maximize patient outcomes.
• Communicate with referring providers to ensure continuity of care.
