Radiotherapy Centers of Kentuckiana is seeking a compassionate Financial Counselor to support cancer patients through insurance benefits, treatment costs, and available financial resources. The role includes insurance verification, eligibility assessments, and counseling on co-pays and payment plans.

Under supervision, you will obtain pre-authorizations, collect payments, and assist with external assistance programs while upholding patient confidentiality and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Verifies patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Reviews pre-authorization requirements for services.
• Counsels patients on insurance benefits and patient financial obligations.
• Documents counseling processes and forwards to Billing Office.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows front-office policies.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify insurance and demographic information.
• Perform insurance verification with third-party payers.
• Obtain initial and subsequent pre-authorizations.
• Re-verify benefits and obtain authorizations after treatment plan review.
• Collect co-pays and out-of-pocket amounts at visit.
• Assist patients in obtaining financial assistance and required forms.
• Maintain manuals, logs, and documentation.
