Job summary

Radiotherapy Centers of Kentuckiana seeks a compassionate Financial Counselor to support patients through the cancer care journey. You will help patients understand insurance benefits, assess financial needs, and connect them with available assistance resources.

Under general supervision, you will verify insurance, determine patient demographics, provide counseling on costs and co‑pays, and support billing with accurate documentation while complying with applicable policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of medical business office experience with insurance procedures and patient interaction.
• Oncology experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and verifies insurance, demographic, and eligibility information in the system.
• Performs insurance verification for third‑party payers.
• Obtains initial and subsequent pre‑authorization for services.
• Re‑verifies benefits and obtains authorization/referral after treatment plan is discussed.
• Collects co‑pays, deductibles and other out‑of‑pocket amounts at visit.
• Maintains accurate logs, documents counseling, and ensures confidentiality.
