Job summary

The Cancer Center of Kansas (CCK) seeks a full-time, on-site Patient Financial Counselor in Wichita, KS. This role focuses on assessing patient financial needs, counseling on insurance benefits and co-payments, and assisting with applications for drug reimbursement, copay, and foundation aid.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum three (3) years medical insurance verification and authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients without insurance or with limited coverage in obtaining financial assistance (e.g. Project Access, copay assistance).
• Coordinate with patient and provider to obtain information and signatures for drug reimbursement requirements.
• Upload or fax applications and pertinent financial forms to manufacturers/programs.
• Collaborate with the treatment authorization team to identify patients in need of assistance and notify them once approvals are in place.
• Perform financial counseling for all patients prior to treatment, including patient financial obligations and payment arrangements.
• Maintain manuals, logs and documentation related to financial counseling and assistance programs.
• Communicate with pharmaceutical Field Reimbursement Managers to stay updated on program changes.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with policies.
