Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (Oncology) to work closely with the primary care physician, delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining accurate health records. You will review charts, measure vitals, and prepare treatment rooms for examinations while following Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines.

Active CMA certification is required; ABR-OE is acceptable if MA certification is not obtained.

Qualifications

• One year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred, not required).
• Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred, not required).
• Active Medical Assisting certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA or equivalent) or ABR-OE acceptable (not in SC).
• BLS/Heart Association certification required at certain locations or prior to independent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service in a respectful manner.
• Review and update health records; verify diagnostic test results and hospital reports.
• Measure vital signs (pulse, respiration, BP, weight, height) and prepare treatment rooms.
• Assist with clerical duties such as inventory, referrals, and phone coverage.
