Job summary

Georgetown University in Washington, DC is seeking a Clinical Research Nurse 1 to coordinate oncology clinical trials within the Lombardi Clinical Trials Office. The CRN will oversee study coordination from screening to follow-up and ensure protocol integrity and patient safety.

The role supports Clinical Research Coordinators, manages study data, and collaborates with investigators, IRB, sponsors, and auditors while adhering to GCP and HIPAA policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, BLS certification, and RN license in the District of Columbia.
• 3–5 years nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, or similar health care setting.
• Knowledge of clinical research, GCP, and regulatory processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate or manage overall trial conduct and lifecycle for assigned oncology clinical trials.
• Recruitment and screening of study participants; obtain and document informed consent.
• Document data in the medical record and patient research chart in compliance with protocol and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct study-related procedures and assessments, ensuring protocol integrity and patient safety per GCP.
• Provide education to patients about trial participation, testing, and potential side effects.
• Regularly update CTMS with patient information and key dates for financial management with CRCs.
• Assist in regulatory compliance, adverse event reporting, and liaison with IRB, sponsors, and auditors.
• Collaborate with investigators, CRCs, data coordinators, and staff to resolve queries and ensure data accuracy.
