Job summary

Georgetown University’s Lombardi Cancer Center seeks a Clinical Research Nurse for the Hematology program. The role ensures trial integrity under the PI, coordinates patient visits and data collection, and protects participant welfare in compliance with IRB approvals and GCP guidelines.

The nurse acts as a study coordinator across multiple trials, supports regulatory documents, and engages with internal and external teams to advance cancer research within a robust, on-campus setting.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license.
• Bachelor of Nursing degree.
• Two years of recent clinical nursing experience.
• Nursing competency skills per scope of practice (vital signs, assessments, ECG/EKG, injections).
• At least one year clinical trials experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, drug calculation, clinical trials and GCP concepts.
• Detail oriented and meticulous in all aspects of work.
• Strong follow through and proactive problem-solving; initiative is imperative.
• Professional demeanor with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency in MS Word & Excel, EHR systems and research databases or willingness to learn within six months.
• Knowledge of GCP, HIPAA and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure protocol compliance and participation in recruitment of study participants.
• Provide patient education and medical information to study patients.
• Support regulatory staff in maintaining regulatory documents.
• Communicate and collaborate with the study team and sponsor contacts.
• Develop accurate source materials for trials.
