Job summary

AbbVie Inc. in the Washington, D.C./Virginia area is seeking a Clinical Research Associate II focused on Oncology.

The role is full‑time with a strong emphasis on site engagement, monitoring to ensure protocol compliance, data integrity, and patient safety. You will collaborate with investigators, provide training to site staff, and contribute to risk‑based monitoring strategies within AbbVie’s clinical trial program.

Qualifications

• Appropriate tertiary qualification in health related disciplines (Medical, Scientific, Nursing) preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinically related experience, with at least 6 months in clinical research monitoring.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (ICH/GCP) and applicable policies.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Primary point of contact for investigative sites and provide trial information to site staff.
• Aligns and motivates site staff and principal investigators on trial goals and patient treatment principles.
• Conducts site evaluations, training, monitoring, and site closures per protocol and SOPs.
• Develops site engagement strategies using CRM to report progress and impact.
• Ensures data quality and timely reporting; manages safety event follow-ups and regulatory readiness.
• Mentors less experienced CRAs and may participate in global/local task forces.
