Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Clinical Pharmacist Oncology for a full-time daytime schedule. 40 hours per week, in Illinois, with hourly compensation. The role focuses on medication safety, oncology knowledge, and collaborative patient care across the care team.

The Pharmacist will interpret orders, monitor interactions, and ensure appropriate therapy while educating staff and patients. Experience in oncology or residency training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy.
• Active Illinois Clinical Pharmacist license required.
• Preferred: oncology specialization or residency training.
• Must be able to interpret medication orders and monitor therapies.

Responsibilities

• Interprets medication orders to ensure safety and proper use.
• Monitors therapy for drug interactions and adjusts therapy as needed.
• Evaluates medication appropriateness and communicates issues to prescribers.
• Educates patients and healthcare staff about medications and safety.
• Processes orders into the EHR and maintains accurate records.
• Maintains formulary and participates in quality improvement activities.
