Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking an experienced Provider Informaticist I to lead clinical informatics education and systems implementation for ambulatory oncology in the Baltimore area. An RN with oncology experience is preferred, and you will drive evidence-based practice, training, and adoption of information systems to improve patient care.

You will collaborate across disciplines, evaluate technologies, and ensure regulatory compliance while advancing MMG and MedStar

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree in Informatics or Information Management preferred.
• One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
• Three years of progressively more responsible informatics job related experience required.
• Experience in systems analysis/programming, customer service, information systems and/or project management preferred.
• Special certification/registration/licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as clinical informaticist educator consultant leader and researcher for information systems.
• Plans develops implements maintains evaluates and trains information systems to improve processes.
• Provides direction and education for clinical information initiatives per MMG and MedStar Health objectives.
• Evaluates and implements clinical information systems and processes based on customer requirements.
• Develops educational strategies to promote computer literacy and training plans for new technology.
• Represents department on committees and collaborates with MMG end users and IS to decide data display/access.
• Maintains knowledge of current trends in health informatics and pursues scholarly growth and research.
• Manages interventions to increase adoption of clinical applications and ensure compatibility with policies.

Education

Bachelor's degree

Master's degree in Informatics or Information Management

One year of relevant education substituted for one year of required work experience

Three years of informatics experience

Experience in systems analysis, programming, customer service, information systems and/or project management

Special certification, registration, or licensure preferred
