MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Clinical Informatics Nurse Specialist to lead design, implementation, and optimization of clinical information systems. Qualifications

• RN license in DC or a compact state is required.
• ANCC Informatics Nursing Certification or related informatics certification within 2 years is required.
• 3–4 years of clinical nursing practice, including leadership roles, are required.
• Experience developing and evaluating clinical applications that support patient care is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of the SDLC for clinical information systems and clinical communication systems with stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to optimize functionality, adoption, and clinical workflows.
• Develop and implement educational content for system use, onboarding, and ongoing training.
• Support end users during implementation life cycles, troubleshooting, and change management.
• Evaluate safety, effectiveness, cost, quality, and regulatory compliance in system development.
• Participate in enterprise system selection and vendor evaluations and demonstrations.
• Design, validate, and optimize data sets, visualizations, and reports; promote nursing data integrity.
• Act as change agent to anticipate clinical needs and educate stakeholders on changes.
• Collaborate with clinical practice and education teams to ensure evidence-based practice.
• Maintain and advance nursing informatics knowledge through education and committee participation.
