Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a clinical informatics educator consultant leader and researcher for information systems. You will plan, develop, implement, maintain, evaluate, and train on clinical information systems to improve processes and patient care, acting as an internal consultant and resource across the organization.

You will monitor opportunities for technical innovations, ensure applications align with best clinical practices, provide education for physicians

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Master's degree in Informatics or Information Management preferred
• One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
• Min 3 years of progressively more responsible informatics job related experience required
• Experience in systems analysis/programming, customer service, information systems, and/or project management preferred
• Prior experience in an IS or clinical related role preferred
• One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a clinical informatics subject matter expert, identifying clinical, operational, and technology needs and developing solutions that improve patient care and outcomes.
• Leads the evaluation, implementation, optimization, and support of clinical information systems and applications, including troubleshooting, validation, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Serves as a liaison and project manager for clinical technology initiatives, partnering with clinicians, IS, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption.
• Conducts workflow and business process analysis, needs assessments, and cost-benefit analyses to align technology solutions with organizational and clinical priorities.
• Uses data, evidence-based practice, research, and performance improvement methodologies to identify opportunities and implement changes that improve quality, safety, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
• Develops and delivers education and training for physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals on clinical applications, technology, informatics, and evidence-based practice.
• Promotes compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and quality requirements and supports audits, reporting, and corrective action initiatives.
