UC San Diego Health is a Magnet-designated organization recognized for nursing excellence. We seek Oncology Nursing Float Pool Clinic RNs to provide high-quality patient care across outpatient cancer services, including clinics, BMT, and Radiation Oncology, across multiple locations.

The role emphasizes assessment, care coordination, teaching, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to support patients during FMLA leaves and other absences.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Minimum two (2) years of Hematology, Oncology, and/or BMT experience required.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high acuity outpatient environment with vulnerable patients.
• Care Coordination experience.
• Must have strong knowledge of cancer care, diagnoses, and treatment.
• Must have the ability to recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies using sound clinical judgment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, consistently demonstrating empathy and kindness in all interactions with staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent patient care across outpatient cancer services (clinics, BMT, Radiation Oncology).
• Perform assessment, care coordination planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Educate patients and families to support understanding and treatment adherence.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure top-of-licence care.
