The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Oncology Float. The role ensures efficient patient flow, prepares patients for visits, and assists clinicians across multiple KU Health System sites.

Candidates should have a medical assisting credential or substantial related experience, plus BLS. Responsibilities include coordinating tests, documenting procedures, supporting the care team, and maintaining medical records and clinic supplies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or 3+ years related experience.
• BLS (AHA) certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsabilités

• Schedules tests, obtains films/reports, prepares laboratory specimens according to policy.
• Assists physicians/nurses with procedures and exams as defined on competency checklist.
• Collaborates with health-care team to coordinate patient care and records.
• Submits prescriptions/refills electronically or by phone/fax to outpatient pharmacies.
• Maintains medical records and documentation; manages clinic/exam room supplies and inventory.
• Performs basic clerical duties: greet patients, registration, scheduling, and billing preparations.
• Performs vital signs, measurements, and screening procedures; documents results.
