Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Community RN Career Direct Care Pathway in the Oncology Care Unit at the Main Campus. The role focuses on providing professional nursing care per physician orders and coordinating the patient’s plan of care.

Licensed R.N. in Massachusetts with BLS certification is required. Depending on level, experience requirements vary; weekend/holiday coverage may be needed as part of a 36-hour day shift.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN licensure is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to the department may be required.
• Experience level varies by RN Experience level (I–IV).

Responsibilities

• Participates in and maintains awareness of performance improvement initiatives.
• Conscientiously evaluates and integrates evidence-based practice into clinical practice.
• Conducts and documents accurate clinical assessments.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates the patient’s individualized plan of care.
• Uses professional nursing judgment to tailor the plan of care to patient needs.
• Manages own patient assignment by delegating and coordinating with team members.
• Develops a comprehensive discharge plan with appropriate resources and referrals.
