Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks a Specialty Medical Billing Supervisor to lead a team responsible for the billing and reimbursement of advanced cancer treatments, including BMT, CAR-T, and gamma knife procedures. You will oversee daily operations, monitor queues and productivity, and guide staff performance to optimize reimbursement.

The role emphasizes resolving complex billing challenges, ensuring accuracy, and partnering across departments to minimize denials.

Qualifications

• Experience leading healthcare billing, revenue cycle, or reimbursement teams.
• Understanding of hospital and professional billing processes and payer requirements.
• Experience with oncology billing or high-acuity medical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily billing operations for complex oncology and specialty services.
• Monitor queues, claim quality, and team productivity to ensure timely submissions.
• Support staff performance, workflow management, and operational efficiency.
• Review high-dollar accounts to identify reimbursement risks and resolutions.
• Lead escalations and appeals for high-value denied or underpaid claims.
• Collaborate with coding, clinical, patient access, and other teams to improve processes.
• Help prevent denials by ensuring billing practices align with payer guidelines.
• Analyze trends and prepare reports on productivity, denials, and metrics.
• Support internal audits, compliance initiatives, and revenue integrity efforts.
• Assist patients and payers with billing inquiries while maintaining service quality.
• Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to billing team members.
