Job summary

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Medical Oncology within our ambulatory department. You will provide direct clinical care, collaborate with physicians, and educate patients and families in a fast-paced oncology setting.

The role requires an APRN with acute care certification or equivalent inpatient NP experience, IL RN/APRN licenses, and national certification, with ongoing commitment to credentialing and professional development.

Qualifications

• Acute care certification required for APRNs.
• Inpatient NP experience may be considered in lieu of acute care certification.
• Licensed as RN in Illinois and APRN in Illinois with national certification.
• DEA license and controlled substance privileges may be pursued after licensure.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of health problems.
• Prescribe and order medications and tests per clinical privileges.
• Collaborate with physicians and health professionals in clinical areas.
• Provide patient and family education and counseling.
• Participate in quality improvement and research related to area of expertise.
