Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our ambulatory department. The NP will provide direct clinical care, conduct health assessments, and collaborate with a physician team to manage a broad range of health issues.

The role includes teaching patients and families, maintaining comprehensive documentation, and engaging in quality improvement activities while mentoring graduate students in advanced practice.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing or Physician Assistant program.
• Acute care certification required for APRNs.
• Current Illinois RN license and APRN license; DEA registration eligibility.
• BLS certification issued by a national body (American Heart Association/National CPR Association).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations.
• Provide direct clinical care and prescribe medications/therapies.
• Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals.
• Educate patients and families; document care in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement and/or research within area of expertise.
• Serve as a role model and preceptor for students and staff.
