Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant credentials.
• Active RN/APRN or PA license in Florida; board certification.
• Oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of patients with acute, chronic and/or potential health problems.
• Establish medical diagnoses alongside the physician.
• Oversee treatment infusions and supportive care needs as appropriate.
• Write specific orders within the scope of practice including chemotherapy.
• Manage general medical and surgical conditions and related therapies.
• Provide direction to clinic staff regarding follow-up patient care issues.
• Communicate effectively with referring and primary care providers and other care team members.
• Manage independent outpatient clinical practice and coverage for collaborating physicians.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in oncology/hematology quality and research projects.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, wellness care, and survivorship plans.
• Participate in ongoing learning opportunities.
• Participate in on-call coverage assignments and weekend/holiday coverage.
