The Cancer Center of South Florida in Tampa, FL, seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to work with the Outpatient Solid Tumor Oncology team at the Tampa General Hospital Cancer Institute. The Cancer Center of South Florida is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to practice at the Tampa General Hospital Cancer Institute in collaboration with the Outpatient Solid Tumor Oncology team, delivering high-quality, patient-centered cancer care in a multidisciplinary setting.
The APP will function as an independent healthcare provider who, working collaboratively within a health team is responsible for providing comprehensive care to both well and ill patients. The APP demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses, specifically cancer patients in active treatment. The APP is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs. The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical clinical knowledge, communication and interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism, and systems-based practice. The APP works with administrative, nursing, physician, to assure safe, effective, quality patient care and to promote educational and research missions.
This APP is dedicated to assisting patients and their families as they cope with various forms of cancer. The APP is trained to manage the physical and psychological needs of the oncology patient and his or her family. They will provide primary, acute or tertiary care in a variety of medical settings including but not limited to private practice, hospitals, cancer care centers, and palliative care centers. They may also work collaboratively with educational programs on cancer prevention and similar topics.
